Services

A budget the building can actually run on.

Most community budgets are last year plus three percent. Ours start from census, acuity and the labor it really takes — then get measured every month against what happened. It is the same financial discipline we run inside our own operating companies every day.

When communities call us

  • Budget season arrives and there is no reliable base to build from
  • Monthly financials land late, and the variances have no owner and no explanation
  • A lender or owner is asking for a 13-week cash forecast and a credible plan behind it
  • Labor is running past revenue and nobody can say which shifts, units or agencies are driving it
  • Rates have not moved with acuity, and the payor mix has shifted under the budget

What the work includes

  • A zero-based operating budget built line by line with department heads, tied to a census and payor-mix forecast
  • A labor model — hours per patient day, agency, overtime — that moves with census instead of sitting in a spreadsheet
  • A 13-week cash flow and a 12-month census-to-cash projection, refreshed monthly
  • A monthly variance package: what moved, why, who owns the fix, by when
  • Rate and acuity analysis across Medicaid, Medicare, managed care and private pay
  • A one-page scorecard and a lender/owner reporting pack that answers the questions before they are asked

Numbers with owners, not just numbers.

A budget only works if the people who spend the money built it and are measured against it. We run the process with your administrator, DON, dietary, housekeeping and maintenance leads in the room, and we stay through the first quarter of monthly reviews so the habit takes. If what you need is a clean set of books, we will tell you to call your accountant first.
